INTERNAL COMPLAINT COMMITTEE

The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) of MGM Muthoot College of Nursing, Kozhencherry is constituted as a special cell to provide a safe and secure environment to women at work place. The committee is implemented for the prevention of sexual harassment of women as specified in section 4(1) of Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013 and prevention of sexual harassment act (PoSH) Act.

AIM OF ICC

To uphold the fundamental rights of a woman to equality, the right to life and to live with dignity and the right to have a safe and secure working environment.

OBJECTIVES OF ICC

1) To comply with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013 and to develop and implement policies against sexual harassment of women in the campus/ workplace.
2) To create and maintain a proactive work environment that promotes awareness and strategies on prevention of sexual harassment in the campus/ workplace.
3) To create and maintain a positive and favorable work environment that promotes appropriate and effective redressal mechanism on sexual harassment in the campus/ workplace
4) To orient students and employees of the institution about the functioning of the Internal Complaint Committee.

PROCESS OF MAKING COMPLAINT AND CONDUCTING ENQIRY

Strictly comply with the Regulations and Act in procedures for making complaint and conducting enquiry.

Activities of the Cell

1) Conduct orientation/ awareness programmes in the institution
2) Conduct special talks by the subject experts in the institution
3) Display information to create awareness regarding prevention of sexual harassment in the college and hostel campuses.
4) Conduct special programs like debate, quiz, role play, extempore and writing events for students.
5) Regular monthly meeting of ICC members
